Hi Dani,
yes no problem.
1st) Yes, you can only play with one tribe during the campaign. We are not sure if we should change the acces to each tribe's subforum to members only (by creating usergroups for the teams). The problem is that anyone could create a fake account and "spy" the subforums.
The idea is to prevent having mercenaries who switch teams all the time. And it's a cool thing to have some identification as it gives the campaign a more dramatic appearance.
2nd) The players decide which tribe they want to join, making their choice on what they like the most to play or can identify with the best. It will be able to switch anyway but not on a regular base (only if their a problems in team like animosities or after each chapter).
Ask the team's captain and he will put you in.
3rd) I think we will make a list of players first, then we can see how many we are and who will do which part. No need to be a good player because, each player can only defend one territory at a time. The teams will really need the "weaker" players as well. On the world map, you can always see which player defends which area! And there wont be so many good players to defend all areas easily.
4th) The hashkey is NOT, I repeat "IS NOT" the cd key. The hashkey is generated from the cd key but cannot be generated back to the cd key (at least not by us). It is like a car licence and so we can see (in replay e.g.) who has actually played the game. This was invented by the SEK and was always used in ESL tournaments. The haskey is to be found in the settings.cfg Paraworld file.
There is an official tool from SEK to find the hashkey in your settings.cfg file.
Parker and me will take a plane to slap everyone who posts his full cd key here in the forums!!
OMG long answer...

Re: Campaign Discussion Thread #1
That is a good question. I would suggest that we take care of the forum and tavern first. Afterwards we will have a better base to work on. If someone keeps on converting the last maps (holy city needs to be done) then we can start the campaign. It's not that I dont want to.

Hi, I don't want to sound dum or anything but I was wondering how you are setting up a campaign online, also will there be specific days of battles, or can you just go on when ever you are able? Also will be facing off against the SEAS at any point, or is it just the three tribes because the SEAS isn't playable at the moment and so would need to be AI controlled?

Re: Campaign Discussion Thread #1
These questions are fine. I will try to answer them.THEEVERGOD wrote:Hi, I don't want to sound dum or anything but I was wondering how you are setting up a campaign online...
We play on this world map:
Meeting point is:
this forum
the Paraworld game
our tavern (chat) (http://www.para-welt.com/tavern/)
The concept is basically like a game of RISK. Each team will plan an attack and post it onto the Council of War forum. Actually the team's captain/emissary does this. Players will offer themselves to fight a battle. If you do not have time in one round, you can participate in the next. The rooster is kind of rotating.
We use the singleplayer maps to fight on. They are converted for multiplayer mode.
We are not yet 100% sure on this topic. It will depend on the number of players....also will there be specific days of battles, or can you just go on when ever you are able?
It will probably be like this:
One turn lasts five days.
The posts look like:
Threadtitle: (Round 5) Dustriders attack Norsemen (Water Temple)
Text: We attack the region 'Water Temple' (2on2 map)
Players chosen to play:
Conan1234
Stina567
Inform us about the players who defend and date of match.
Response of Norsemen:
Players chosen to play:
Gator12345
Plex12345
Date 1: Wednesday (6:30 pm)
Date 2: Thursday (6:30 pm)
We meet in the tavern
Response of Dustriders:
Confirmed
Threadtitle: (Round 5) Dustriders attack Dragon Clan (Vallhalla)
Text: We attack the region 'Vallhalla' (2on2 map)
Players chosen to play:
Conan1234
Stina567
Contact us for date of match.
Response of Dragon Clan:
Players chosen to play:
Rex456
LimYoHwan2001
On Wednesday (7:30 pm)
On Thursday (5:00 - 9:00 pm)
We meet in the tavern.
Response of Dustriders:
Confirmed
One attack per team per round means 3 battles in 5 days. We have decided to play during the christmas holidays and so the rounds could be shorter as most players have more time to participate. We will see.
The team captain's job is to make the players happy, not to tell them what to do. The players can decide when to play.
The S.E.A.S. will be part of the campaign. They are going to be player-controlled (by gamemasters). So far they are like they were in the campaign. In the hands of a human player that turns out quite interesting, but not perfect yet. Anyone who has time could start balancing them. Also will be facing off against the SEAS at any point, or is it just the three tribes because the SEAS isn't playable at the moment and so would need to be AI controlled?
Just ask if you have more questions.
