So I recently re-installed this game and found that the resolution is messed up. I have used every option it gives me and found that there is a "black box" at the edges of the screen that block the resolution changes. This is particularly annoying because even on the lowest size setting the box cuts off the edges of the screen. Any ideas as to why this is?

What exactly do you mean with black box? Can you make a screenshot? Or do you mean that there is an area where mouse clicks don't do anything? Or do you mean that some pixels at the edges are cut off?

The pixels at the edges are cut cut off. The picture is the screen at the lowest available resolution, and the problem gets worse at higher levels.
