Multiplayer timing out.

Post by Dingo422 »

A friend and I are trying to get Paraworlds Multiplayer working for two days now.

Things we've tried so far-

*Port Forwarding all the following ports-
28910
27900
27900
27901
29910
45000
45010
56000-65000
1177

*Using said ports on direct connect (did nothing. Timed out)

*Used Hamachi (Timed out)

*Used Gameranger (Timed out)

*Opened ALL the ports (both of us did) (Still timed out)

*Tried normal Internet (Couldn't see games)

* When we tried LAN with hamachi, couldn't see games on LAN.

Now, my friend and I share the same CD key (we guessed it would normally tell us we couldn't play cause the key's where the same), and yes, we both have version 1.01.

I love Paraworld, have for five years, but I've NEVER seen a game with a Multiplayer so screwed up. I would just like to find out what step we're missing, because I really want to finally play online with someone, but Paraworld is trying everything in its power to make sure that doesn't happen xD.

Why must bad things happen to good games :( ?

You can't play with your friend if he has the same cd key as your.

Hi Dingo422, most issues with multiplayer are caused by the installation. In your case you both should install the game again. Install it into X:\PW so not as suggested by the program into the X:\program files folder. The latter causes problems when you patch the game

Before you install the game again, I have a question. Did you install the boosterpack? How did you patch to 1.01? What versions of windows are both of you using?

Cheers Tric

Yes but he would get a cd key error in this case right?

We both have the booster pack, and we both use Win 7.
And what do you mean by X:\PW?

By X: I mean one of your harddrives like C: - Regarding your problems: You should have version 1.05 if you have installed the boosterpack. You need to start the game with the new boosterpack shortcut (should be on your desktop) or modify your current one by right-clicking on it -> properties then add

-enable boosterpack1

after paraworld.exe

It actually matters too if you forward a port with TCP or UDP...
